So often, life just gets in the way. Whether it’s family commitments, work schedules, or the cost and time of maintaining a home, often the New Year’s resolutions to get fit and lose weight disappear by March or April.

All of the high hopes seem to fade when life takes over.

So, what can you do to beat the resolution doldrums? Practice sticking to it!

Be Willing

First, you want to feel the changes you want to make inside. You want to have an inner drive to make real changes to your life. This is what propels your dreams and makes them reality.

Make a solid commitment to change. Will it be easy? No. Will we be here with you every step of the way? You bet!

If you are willing to make a strong commitment to change and get in shape, we’ve got 10 tips for helping you along your journey. Here they are:

  1. Make yourself priority number one. Your commitment to exercise must be at the top. Schedule it into your calendar.
  2. Be patient and set realistic goals for yourself. Make a mental note that getting in shape is a long process.
  3. Understand that there are no short cuts or quick fixes. Lasting changes take time.
  4. Do appreciate the small changes. For example, after working out for two weeks, you may have more energy, or your pants may feel a little bit better.
  5. Invest in a personal trainer. We know how to help you, and we can help you be accountable. It’s the best money you’ll spend all year.
  6. Picture how you want to look and feel. Remind yourself of this every day.
  7. Don’t give up. We’ll say it again, don’t give up. Even if you miss a day, please don’t abandon your goals.
  8. Don’t want until your sick and unhealthy to do something about your health. Take control of your body and watch the change happen.
  9.  Every day tell yourself that you can do it because you really can.
  10. If you have time to surf the internet or look at Instagram, you can workout. Often, you can do both!
